I was kindof surprised to see this slipcovered sofa on JCP’s website. I think it’s safe to say that JCP is stepping up their game.
Looks pretty darn good, right? And what about the price? $900. You can’t beat that. I’m not sure about the quality because the reviews are mixed, but if you have a room that you won’t be using much this sofa would probably be great.
And look at this mercury lamp.
At $65 it’s a fraction of the cost of this lamp from Pottery Barn.
As far as window treatments go, JCPenney has long been one of my main hardware resources. It might surprise you that a designer would buy window treatment hardware from JCP. When it comes to basic, no frills hardware at a low cost though, they can’t be beat. One of my favorite rods is the Studio ceiling mount rod. I love it because you can mount it to the ceiling or the wall.
The thin profile is perfect. Here’s an example from a project that I did a couple of years ago.
Hopefully Penney’s will continue to step it up in the future. I’m liking this new branding direction.
Wow! I haven't checked out the 'new' JCP, but I think I need to! That lamp is fabulous. And, if you're completely sold on the look of the other one from PB, you could always use that liquid etching to recreate the look. :)
ReplyDeleteThat couch does look great! I'm really impressed with their new branding too, and I hope it works for them so they keep with it.
ReplyDeleteI have been a JCP shopper for years and They really have great stuff! The new branding has nothing to do with it.. I think it's just making people more aware of them:)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree...love the sofa and have noticed some accessories that are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI have actually ordered that sofa for a project up in the mountains. They were happy with it...at least 3 years ago!
ReplyDeleteJCP is a little hidden gem when it comes to housewares. Their towels were the number one selling towel for years. I still have some 20 years later and they are almost as nice as the day I purchased them. They also have great ready made drapes and shades. Their new CEO was Target's CEO. I think they may have hired the right guy to change their image.
ReplyDeleteI love that you called it' Penny's:) makes me think of my grandma. I have been meaning to hop over there and see if they have any armchairs I could use for a super budget project.
ReplyDeleteOh my beautiful strawberry blonde baby! I've given you another updated shout out on my blog and here's the link. I am soooo excited for you and your family. Congratulation isn't a strong enough word. I love you bunches, sweet girl.
