I finally got a chance to take a photo of my family room. There are still so many things that I want to do in here but at least it is presentable.
One of the hardest parts about being a designer is knowing what you would love to do to your own home but not having the means or the time to actually do them. Some things that I’m hoping to do in the near future…
1. Replace the floor lamp in the far corner with a task lamp like this one.
2. I purposely didn’t show the end table on the other side of the sofa. You can only see the tip of the corner in the pic. It needs to be replaced, along with the light fixture that is sitting on it. I want to replace it with something like this table from Wisteria. And this lamp from Ballard Designs.3. I also need to fluff up the bookshelves with new accessories.
The list of “things to do” goes on and on. I’m hopeful that I can get everything done sooner than later. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve got a lot on my plate right now and an even tighter budget due to the little one that’s on the way.
I hope you all will have a lovely, sunshiny weekend! This weekend Billy and I will be spending some time in Huntsville with my Mom. I can’t wait to see her and my brother. See you all next week.
I think it looks great! I always love a classic english roll arm sofa.
ReplyDeleteI also know the feeling of wanting to do all sorts of things to your own place and not having the means or time to do it.
It looks great, Cristi! I totally understand what you are saying, though - I think that is every designer's lament!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the colors, its a very cohesive looking and inviting. Really love the pops of orange, very well done!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cozy space. The colors are great! I see floor lamps like that all the time in HomeGoods. It't just a matter of being there at the right time. Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteYour living room looks great! It looks well designed and livable. Have a great visit with your family. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the paintings above the sofa and the pops of orange, just super. Those round end tables with the shelves are wonderful I once had an old one with one shelf, but two would be sublime. Your room looks beautiful and comfortable at the same time.
ReplyDeleteMay I ask where you got that hassock (footstool), I love the colors; it adds a touch of whimsey to the room, just perfect.
I love the cheerful feeling of the room. And the colors are fabulous together!

The room looks great Cristi! And I love the new things you have plans for....that light blue table is gorgeous. And the drapery pulls the whole thing together.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean....for a designer a space is never done.
Thanks for all the great comments guys. It's always reassuring to hear that someone else thinks a room looks good.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question Linda, I picked up the footstool at Homegoods. I got it about 6 months ago but I've seen them there recently in different colors. It's one of my favorite things in the room.
xo, Cristi
I saw a lamp just like that at TJMaxx yesterday!! I think it was like $69.99 and it was that bronzed silver look. I almost got it but couldn't think of where to put it :/
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for sharing your space! Always wonder what a designer's home looks like :) and yours didn't disappoint!
It is so good to see the curtains used in this area. It looks really good in here. Your family room is so vibrant.
