back in february i gave you a sneak peek of baby harper’s nursery. well now that harper is days away from coming into this world i’m back to show you the reveal. it was such a joy designing this nursery for my friends jenny and brock. i enjoyed every minute of it and got so excited as everything was coming together.
i designed the room around the silk plaid fabric. the colorful plaid was originally used as window panels in her guest bedroom that i designed a couple of years ago. i couldn’t believe how well the vintage circus fabric matched it when i first found it. it was like they were made for each other.
for artwork we decided that jenny should commission one of her friends to do a painting of the carousel scene in the bumper fabric. she also got a wonderful shower gift from a friend with harper’s initials painted on it. how cute are her initials!!! “hee”
{the picture frames in the collage aren’t filled yet because this is where her baby pictures will go}
i knew i wanted to do something unusual for the changing table. when jenny found this beat up dining buffet at a flea market i knew it was “the one.”
we turned this beast into a beauty by adding a few coats of paint and some new anthropologie hardware.
we used an antique that jenny had bought previously purchased at an estate sale as harpers dresser. i added a mirror bought at homegoods above it. the mirror was a little too pink to begin with but after a light brushing of antique white it was the perfect color.
the precious school desk and chair was also found at an antique store. i had the itty bitty chair slipcovered in a neutral fabric and added a sash to the bath with the same vintage balloon fabric from her bedding.
i placed the sweetest gift of all on the top of harper’s shelves. it’s a vintage-like train that jenny’s husband gave her last christmas…soon after we had selected the vintage circus fabric. i also added pages from vintage nursery rhyme books to photo frames throughout the shelves and the room.
i can’t wait until jenny’s sweet little harper arrives and comes home to her nursery.
Looks great Cristi. Silk in a nursery...oh la la!
